Christmas at Home this year

Well, we spent Christmas at home this year - and were glad to have some company! David and Rashelle came out with us after we went to Las Vegas to watch BYU in the Pioneer Las Vegas Bowl. While we would like to ahve started the Christmas vacation witha check mark in the Bowl Win column (sorry BYU) we did have a great time and enjoyed very much watching David play a GREAT game holding the Arizona line at bay. Having them out for 10 days in Virginia afterwards was fun. We got up early every day (OK, I'm lying - only MAX got up early and went to work, but Rashelle, Dave and Janice slept till noon!) We went to a few museums, went to D.C. and the Smithsonian, saw a Washington Wizards Basketball game (their first win in 9 games) and played a LOT of Scrabble!

Dave and I played Jeopardy, and we wore a hole in the air hockey table! We went to a fun New Year's Eve party too at some friends' home in our neighborhood and even Dave and Rashelle appeared to have a good time (with us old people!) Janice played her violin!! More than anything else over this holiday season, WE ATE! EVERYTHING IN SIGHT! There was FOOD, MORE FOOD, and then LEFTOVERS! We are still eating. We had a great southern style BBQ dinner on Christmas Eve (a new tradition for sure) and Jan and Rashelle cooked all week. Seems the neighbors were cooking all week too and we had plates of goodies all week flowing in from every door. AS I am writing this, my top button is popping open! (OK, TMI - I know!) Anyhow, a nice time all around. Hope a few pics help tell part of the story!
